Monday Morning

I've been trying so hard to write enough articles for AC and Helium.com that I've neglected anything worthwhile here at LJ. I'm finding it difficult right now to think of things to write about. Not really writer's block but definitely a slump. I do have a couple of new articles written though if you want to check them out. I'm writing for AC first and them copying them to Helium.com.

This time last week there was over 2 feet of snow on the ground. Because of the temperature being just slightly warmer, there was more ice to contend with. So much more that there wasn't garbage pickup the following day (Tuesday). Today is foggy and cold. Hopefully the snow will continue to melt. Most on the snow is gone on the south side of the house now. Just don't try to walk across our yard. You'll think you're in a marsh.

This last Thursday, the realtor called to say that someone wants to look at the house tomorrow morning. So why am I not sprucing up the house today? There just no point in doing it until my husband gets home because he bring half of the outside in with him. Yes, I'm exaggerating but he does bring in a lot of dirt. I am doing laundry as I write this and will neatly fold it all once it's done. I've learned not to get excited whenever there's a showing of the house. Instead I'm looking at this as a way to keep myself in check on doing a good job at cleaning the house.

I was sick most of the weekend with a migraine headache. I've been having them every once in awhile since I had the stroke way long ago. At first I could deal with them by just taking Anacin. It would take about 2 hours for the pain to subside to a dull ache. But then I was in a car accident that broke my nose. Since then, the headaches last at least 6 hours and sometimes as long as 2 days. I think I have figured out something about this though. I'm bound to get the headaches because my brain keeps on trying to heal itself. The reason why they last longer is because my sinuses aren't shaped the same as they use to be because of the car accident. I think what I need to do it take the Anacin and then, 3 hours later, take some Sudifed (sp?) for my sinuses.

Winter Is Coming

For the past three days, it's been snowing tiny little flakes. In the mornings, the streets, sidewalks, and alleys have a thin layer of snow, crystals, and ice. It warms up enough during the day for the eaves to start dripping water from the snow as the bitsy flakes fall. By evening, it's turned cold enough again so that the crystals and ice start accumulating with the snow.

Blue Friday

For some unknown reason I'll feeling especially blue today. Was it the fog I saw outside early this morning? It might be a contributing factor. I think it has more to do with more general things going on in my life right now. I'm making a small bit of money online but nothing that will really help with expenses except for maybe the cost to be online. I think I could really earn more money writing articles because I'm fairly good with the English language but . . . all of a sudden, I can't seem to think of anything to write about that people would want to read. And then there's my husband . . . he tries sometimes but usually he's doing his own thing which means he's making a mess (and not cleaning it up), has the TV on with the volume up just so he can be in a different room to make a mess, or he's looking over my shoulder bothering me. All of it is getting quite annoying. Just the thought of having to put up with this for the next 70 hours is a little hard for me to take.

I hate having the blues.

Monday As A Housewife

Lo and behold! I was awakened by the cold this morning. I actually had goose-bumps. Could it be that the sticky hot weather is over with for this year? I won’t get my hopes too high though.

Today is my day to do laundry. It’s one of the few chores I really don’t mind doing. It’s probably because it’s a no-brainer. I don’t use a hamper. I pick up the dirty clothes each day and put them in the baskets I have next to the washer; one for whites and the other for colors. On Monday morning, I gather up the towels and wash clothes and toss them into the baskets. Bed linen is done last so as soon as I get the first load started, I can take a break, which is what I’m doing now.

I really don't like just being a housewife. I hate that term too but for lack of a better one, it's the one I use. As Kathy Bates said in Green Fried Tomatoes -- "I'm too old to be young and too young to be older". And that's where I seem to be sitting and so, therefore, can't seem to find someone who will hire me even part-time. Mary Kay or Avon? No, I wish I could do one of those but my disability just won't allow for it.

Getting a Grip

I finally was able to create a css file that would work with the graphics I chose for my new site, Eloquent Illusions. Actually, I took the css file from my other site; modified many of the dimensions  in it; changed the name of the file and put it in my new site folder. I still need to create 6 more pages before I’ll be ready for a test run.

The weather seems to have gone back to being unbearably hot again. I’m going to have to get off this pc soon because I’m afraid of ruining something in it by using it when the temperature is so high. This is so aggravating!
